ELAN for students
ELAN is one of the classic programmes for linguistic work. You will come into contact with it more often during your studies. We only show you how to create a new file and point out some useful shortcuts. Everything else will be explained in the lectures.
If you have an audio recording, you can create a new project with it.
For this purpose you select the audio file. Note that the format should be .wav or .mp4.
Attention: You have to drag the file to the opposite side!
Now you have created a new file and can work with it.
Useful keyboard shortcuts:
Ctrl + Space = Starts and pauses recording at the selected point (red line).
Shift + Space = Plays the selected area.
Alt + N = Creates a new annotation in the selected range.
Ctrl + arrow keys = Switch between the individual tiers.
